Hey Tom!

I'm thrilled you are going to place letterboxes in the Chicago area.
I've got a carving companion who lives there and she's just getting
interested in the hobby. I forwarded your note to her and she's pumped!
Not only that, but she and her husband are planning on placing some
boxes in that area as well. This is great, Maybe now the Chicago area
won't be so lax in letterboxes!

Best regards,

Hello,
I can pretty much guarantee 1 by Haloween ( it will have a cemetary theme) possibly 2 or 3. I want to be very sure that once they are placed that they have a good chance of remaining there. I am scouting some potential sites  this weekend. Talk to you later.

Another Chicagoan checking in.

I have to find that Evanston letterbox and after that Tom, it looks
like it will be the two of us (three counting my husband) hiding
letterboxes around here until we get more letterboxers :).

Hope that your letterbox is hidden soon. I've got the makings of a
letterbox...stamping material ready to go, container, logbook, etc.
Now I'm just looking for a good site. Will let you know when we've
hidden one!

Just get yourself a blank notebook, an ink pad, your own rubber stamp and read the stuff at www.letterboxing.org.

Just do it!

Ginn,
Good luck with the Evanston box. I'm sure you and your husband will have fun finding it! I'm carving the new stamp this week and should be placing the box within the next week or so. I also scouted a couple of spots in Westmont yesterday(Labor Day). Happy letterboxing.

DAS,
www.letterboxing.org. should get you to a number of sites. Find Letterboxing North America. This site is loaded with info about letterboxing. The history, how to make your own stamps, a map with general locations of letterboxes, and a message board called talk list. Check it out.Hopefully the number of boxes in the Chicagoland area will be rising soon. I believe that they will. Happy letterboxing.
